2D animation: Induction of labour

Purpose

As part of a team working in collaboration with the Toronto Video Atlas of Surgery (TVASurg), we created an animated short as the second in a four-part series. The final animations are posted on social media channels and highlight frequently asked questions related to the induction of labour, directing viewers to the TVASurg website for comprehensive information.

Project management

I created the project binder for our group in Notion and populated it with deadlines and tasks. I took notes during team and client meetings, which became increasingly important for keeping track of details as we appraoched the final deadline.

Storyboards

While other group members developed moodboards, style frames, visual research documents, and thumbnails, I created the first draft of the storyboards using .Figma and Procreate.

Asset development

As a team, we developed visual assets in Adobe Illustrator before importing them into Adobe After Effects. I was responsable for creating the tools used in the procedure.

Animating scenes and compiling final animation

I animated the following three scenes in After Effects. I was also responsable for compiling the team’s scenes into the final animation, ensuring consistency and adding transitions. My final scenes are viewable below.
